In our ski courses, your children are divided into age- and experience-appropriate groups.
Young winter sports enthusiasts who have already gained their first skiing experience will start at a different level than those who are skiing for the first time.
However, safety and fun are the top priorities in all groups.
No loss of time during your ski vacation
At the Hexenland ski school in Hochsöll, we will find the right ability group for your child after a discussion with an area manager.
If the level is not right, we will immediately find a suitable group.
This saves valuable course time and guarantees intensive ski lessons with lots of fun!
Level 1 – Green (beginner)
You are our little snowflake and are just starting out on your skiing adventure.
In this level you will learn:
- Ride straight ahead: Slide over the snow like a penguin!
- Snow plow: brake like a pro!
Imagine shoveling snow with your ski tips.
- Easy turns: turn like a little ballerina on skis.
Level 2 – Blue (slightly advanced)
Congratulations, you are now a blue slope champion!
Now you’re learning:
- Use the ski lift safely: Ride the magic carpet to the top!
- Turns on easy blue slopes: swing through the snow like a real ski star.
Level 3 – Red (advanced)
Wow, you’re already a real ski hero!
At this level you can:
- Better cornering: Wind your way down the slope like a sly fox.
- Ride slowly in parallel: Ride side by side with your friends as if on an adventure trip (approx. 4 weeks experience).
Level 4 – Black (Experts)
Welcome to the Ski Master Magicians!
Here you can:
- Advanced techniques on difficult black pistes: conquer the steep slopes like a brave dragon.
- Make tight turns: Turn at lightning speed like a tornado.
- Freestyle or classic skiing: Do you want to do cool jumps and tricks or would you rather glide elegantly down the slopes?
The choice is yours!
The ski level check for adults
Level 1 – Green (beginner):
You are a complete beginner or have only been on skis a few times. In this level you will learn:
- Drive straight ahead without losing your balance.
- the snow plow to control speed and brake.
- make easy turns by positioning your skis in a plow.
Level 2 – Blue (slightly advanced):
You already have a few days of skiing behind you and feel more confident on skis.
- You can use the ski lift without any problems.
- You ride on blue slopes and make controlled turns.
- You start to keep your skis parallel, especially on flatter sections.
Level 3 – Red (advanced):
You have about 3 – 4 weeks of experience and have a good command of the basics.
- You drive safely and under control on red slopes.
- Your turns are smoother and you can ride parallel.
- You are able to control your speed well and use various cornering techniques.
Level 4 – Black (experts):
You are an experienced skier and are looking for new challenges.
- You have mastered advanced techniques such as carving and tight turns.
- You ride safely on black slopes and in difficult terrain conditions.
- You may have had some experience in freestyle or classic racing style and enjoy challenging descents.
The snowboard level check
Level 1 – Green (beginner) &
Level 2 – Blue (slightly advanced)
You are entering snowboarding terrain for the first time and have little or no experience with snowboarding.
You will learn the basics such as putting on the bindings, gliding on flat terrain and your first attempts at maintaining balance – the start of your epic journey.

- Individual curves Back & Frontside
Level 3 – Red (advanced)
- drift swing red slope
- Carving & Freestyle – drift turn steeper slope
Level 4 – black (Snowboard expert)
- Freeride & Freestyle – Switch & deep snow
- Top level – safe freeriding
