5 tips for beginner skiers

So that you don’t hang up your skis again as a beginner, here are 5 tips that you should consider before you start.

  1. Try it yourself: Of course it makes sense to hire the equipment and take your first steps on skis – do this and you will see that it is unfamiliar at first. With your ski instructor you will learn the first steps according to the world-renowned ski learning plan and therefore you will celebrate success faster than practising by feel alone.
  1. Get to know the ski equipment: Of course it’s cool if you buy your skis and ski boots straight away, especially skis that match your outfit are a must. Nevertheless, we recommend that you test the skis, as there is a huge selection of skis to choose from. Especially as you can then have direct feedback discussions with a ski instructor and find the right skis to put a smile on your face.
  1. Group courses are fun: Sure, you can ask your boyfriend or girlfriend to teach you to ski, but sometimes it turns into an argument. Are you open to meeting new people? How about a group ski course for beginners – you’ll have twice the fun, you can laugh and cry together or go for an après-ski drink afterwards. And your girlfriend or boyfriend will also have more fun skiing or snowboarding. This also saves the relationship. #gosocialgoskiing
  1. Protect yourself: You think a helmet is uncool? We recommend wearing a helmet, especially as it’s the “ski style” trend and also because it protects your head. So don’t fiddle around and come with a helmet at the start of your ski lesson.
  1. Don’t give up: Had a tough first day on skis? Don’t worry, it’s like learning to play the piano or French, it’s no fun the first few times. Keep at it, success and fun will come naturally. Remember you are out in the snow, in nature surrounded by your coolest friends. Go for it.

And have we motivated you? Everyone should ski, so dare to come out of your shell and join us on your skis or snowboard.
